In order to know, however, there are many things you should consider, three of which are listed below. You will also find tips below on how to become a nurse.

 What to Consider

One thing to consider when deciding to become a nurse is the hours you will have to work once you start your career. This does depend on where you decide to start your career. For example, if you work in a hospital you will likely work long and varying shifts.

Another thing to consider is nursing is very demanding and can affect you both psychologically and physically. Some hospitals are also short on nurses which means you will have to work even harder. Over time this can affect anyone but there are some people that do thrive in this type of area.

You also have to consider your patients as you can get very close to them. You may see some patients come in and then pass away while at the hospital. There may be other patients that require a lot from you because of their demeanor.

Becoming a Nurse

Becoming a nurse requires a lot of schooling. You can find a variety of nursing programs, however, that will be a big help in getting you ready to become a nurse. There are a variety of courses you have to take, such as biology and biology labs, chemistry and chemistry labs, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, nutrition, and much more. If you want to obtain your masters, you will have to attend school for an extra two years. Your current school may or may not offer a master's degree. If not, you would have to find another school in your area or out of state.

You can become an RN with a bachelor's degree that will take at least four years. Once you graduate from college you must become certified before you can start your career. This certification is the National Council Licensure Examination. The nursing program that you take will get you ready for this certification to ensure that you pass.

Talk to your professors at the nursing program that you choose to help you if you have any questions. If you have problems with your classes, you can get help from a tutor, which should be available in your school.
